Bankruptcy Stress on MarriageAccording to an article in the Star-Telegram, job losses may take an extra toll on those who are married as opposed to their single counterparts.

The article said:

“Unemployed husbands and wives reported experiencing stress more often than single job seekers, 81 percent to 51 percent respectively, according to a recent survey.”

The survey also found that more than one-third of unemployed people reported stress related symptoms included anxiety, insomnia and high blood pressure as a result of a job loss. The highest amounts of reported stress were found in those aged 35 to 44 years old. And two out of three of the respondents reported that stress caused by unemployment spilled over into other parts of their lives.

This report isn’t much of a surprise. Being in debt and/or unemployed is one of the leading causes of stress in the nation. And money troubles in general are one of the leading causes of divorce. That’s why it is important that debtor facing a job loss, foreclosure or just feeling swamped by debt obligations consider all of his/her options including bankruptcy. Bankruptcy helps to alleviate money related stress by putting a stop to creditor actions and giving the debtor a fresh financial start. When we modify your bankruptcy plan we are changing your plan payments. This means that we have to get with your employer and change the terms and amount of your wage order. The only way we can do that is by filling out a new wage order form.
