A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a disbarred lawyer charged with forging bankruptcy court documents and stealing more than $200,000 from individuals seeking legal help. The scheme that the disbarred attorney is allegedly involved with involves creating authentic looking; but phone bankruptcy court documents, with forged signatures of judges and time stamps. The disbarred attorney, Charles Radosevich, charged with fraud, was scheduled to appear at trial; but when he failed to appear a warrant for his arrest was issued. The victims in this case have been seriously harmed by this culprit’s alleged actions; but it didn’t have to be this way.
How to protect yourself from fake attorneys:
- Don’t take their word for it. Make sure that your bankruptcy attorney is actually allowed to practice in the state of Texas and that they are in good standing.
- Find out if they have successfully filed bankruptcy cases in the past. You can check court records and you can find out from former clients about the effectiveness of the bankruptcy attorney.
- Keep record of payments made to you bankruptcy attorney. Forking over large amounts of money in cash isn’t a smart move in any business transaction. Make sure that you pay your bankruptcy attorney with instruments that can be traced, even if you have to pay with a money order or cashier’s check.
