Question
What is my Case Number?
Answer
When you file for bankruptcy the court issues you a case number. When they start the year they have a chronological system of providing those case numbers. It is important that you use those case numbers. Number one to notify your creditors, so that if they contact you you can notify them that you are in bankruptcy and you can give them your case number so that they can look up your case on line so they can see how they are being treated. In addition if you are making trustee payments you will need to include this case number on there. So it is very important to get familiar with your case number, write it down and keep it in a safe spot so that you can refer back to it later.
